Technical Stuff — Blank Label Rolls

Most likely—yes! We’ve designed our site to match the specs (gaps, margins, etc.) for a wide range of printers, including Epson, Afinia Label, Primera, QuickLabel, NeuraLabel, VIP Color, and more.

Absolutely. We’ll send you a free sample roll with the right core and orientation to test with your printer. We can’t promise the exact size you’re looking for, but it’ll be enough to run a test.

Timing marks are little black lines, typically on the back of the liner, that help your printer know where to print. You’ll want them if:

  • You’re using clear material
  • Your labels are circular or non-rectangular
  • You need full-bleed printing with the waste matrix left on
  • Your label length is shorter than your printer’s minimum

Not sure if you need them? Ask us!

We’ve got over 3,000 sizes already listed. If yours isn’t one of them, just fill out our custom label request form, and we will happily give you a free quote.

Heads up: there might be a one-time tooling fee. We’ll show you the details as you go.

That’s called full-bleed printing. Many printers can accurately print top the edge of a , and you’ll need two things:

  1. Timing marks (to keep your printer aligned)
  2. The “matrix on” option, which leaves the waste material around the label so excess ink doesn’t bleed onto other labels

Also, make sure your label has at least a 0.25″ top/bottom gap. Not sure if your setup qualifies? Reach out and we’ll double-check it with you.

That’s called full-bleed printing. To get clean edge-to-edge results you’ll need three things:

  1. A printer built for borderless labels.

    • Some models can print right to the die-cut even when the waste matrix is stripped off.

    • Others still need the matrix left on so any over-spray lands on scrap instead of the next label. Check the spec sheet—or ask us—before ordering.

  2. Reliable registration.

    • Timing or black marks tell the printer exactly where each label starts so the artwork stays perfectly aligned.

  3. A proper layout.

    • Add a 1⁄16-inch (≈1.5 mm) bleed past the die-cut and keep at least a 0.25-inch gap between labels. This gives the printer room to fire up and shut down cleanly.

Not sure if your labels or printer qualify? Send us the model number and label spec and we’ll double-check—or point you to the right setup.

Many of our label sizes include a perforation option. If you don’t see it listed, contact us and we’ll let you know what’s possible (and what it might cost).

Technical Stuff — Printed Labels

Colors on screens (RGB) and printed labels (CMYK, spot, or Pantone) don’t always match exactly. It’s a good idea to read up on this—check out our blog post (here) for a deeper dive into how color translation works.

No worries—you’re not alone! Our blog has tons of helpful design articles. Just search for “design” and you’ll find templates, best practices, and inspiration to get you going.

Yes! We offer a printed sample sheet for $75 per design, showing your artwork on the material you’ve selected. If you go ahead and order at least 250 printed labels afterward, we’ll credit that $75 back to your order.

Just note: this sample option only applies to printed labels.
